Over the San Francisco Bay
Indicating a major change
As if with it you just had sailed away
As if your soul had lifted from this space

The road that was open
Has become a crowded highway
A gridlock to the last frontier
Elephants to their final resting place
Winnebagos to their junkyard fate

With our heads deep in the sand
We are never satisfied
An air-conditioned nightmare ride
Takes us into the sun
Straight into the fire
A fusing final embrace
To become part of the blaze

A fork in the system
Away from the tried and true
Takes me to the unbeaten end
Allowing me to reconnect with you
It seems our love is spreading out its roots
It seems the world is turning round again
