Fool's Parade Take your turn in line Do not hesitate Have you made up your mind On how to negotiate The order of which your name will appear How fast will all your worries disappear Join the fool's parade Join the mighty parade Join the ever-growing parade of fools Coming back for more Of the same old farce Since you liked it before You get to go to Mars With all the blessings of the family For sure it’s satisfaction guaranteed Join the fool's parade Join the mighty parade Join the ever-growing parade of fools We make the rich much richer And the poor more miserable Really, we don’t like anyone We prefer war We must assume total control To save you all From the pact that you’ve made With the evils Of your living hell Tired of feeling small Tired of walking blind You have answered the call You must have read our minds Go enjoy your fifteen minutes of fame It’s our pleasure to see you rip the place Join the fool's parade Join the mighty parade Join the ever-growing parade of fools © 2006 US Copyright Office

Say Goodbye 04:39
Say Goodbye He turns around Pulls out a cigarette A shadow dancing off the light It must be done Flashes across his head Some will dodge Some will lie Some just pay the price Oh my, oh my mind Don’t you know when it’s time to say goodbye The air is thick With the sweat of the night A song echoes in the alley A voice is heard from across in the dark Someone shouts Someone cries Someone walks away Oh my, oh my mind Don’t you know when it’s time to say goodbye Punch and Judy Have been served by the man in grey Cold and surgical Is the blade that lies on the tray He turns around Pulls out a cigarette A shadow dancing off the light It must be done Flashes across his head Some will dodge Some will lie Some just pay the price Oh my, oh my mind Don’t you know when it’s time to say goodbye Punch and Judy Have been served by the man in grey Cold and surgical Is the blade that lies on the tray Oh my, oh my mind Don’t you know when it’s time to say goodbye ©2006 US Copyright Office

Into the Fire A strong wind was blowing Over the San Francisco Bay Indicating a major change As if with it you just had sailed away As if your soul had lifted from this space The road that was open Has become a crowded highway A gridlock to the last frontier Elephants to their final resting place Winnebagos to their junkyard fate With our heads deep in the sand We are never satisfied An air-conditioned nightmare ride Takes us into the sun Straight into the fire A fusing final embrace To become part of the blaze A fork in the system Away from the tried and true Takes me to the unbeaten end Allowing me to reconnect with you It seems our love is spreading out its roots It seems the world is turning round again © 2006 US Copyright Office

Let It Out 06:03
Let It Out Let it out Unleash the burning ache The time has come For all to share the blame Most of us have had enough Of the precious few That plunder away our supplies While playing the game Of distorting the truth Let it out Turn up the silent scream Don’t run away From the smoke of that screen The end can never justify The evil of these wars It takes a fool to glorify The genocidal nature Of these calls It doesn’t take a revolution Don’t let them make you Believe it’s a crime To speak an open mind To walk tall and proud Without the blinds To share a common ground Though empowered as one Without the fights Let it out The internalized pain The guilt you feel Was infused in your brain Time for us To step away From the central stage This fool has been made a display But this fool has come forward To turn the page It doesn’t take a revolution Don’t let them make you Believe it’s a crime To speak an open mind To walk tall and proud Without the blinds To share a common ground Though empowered as one Without the fights ©2006 US Copyright Office

Starless Night A danger space Lethal embrace Ensnaring your mind Has weakened your defenses A word is said Sweet poison laced Confusing the lines That define your existence You must open your eyes To allow in the lights Let the rainbow spread its hues across the sky Of this starless night A gripping sense of loneliness A penetrating fear Transgresses the chain of power To fall the prey to emptiness One has to set the pace The script is carefully tailored You shouldn’t pay the price If you didn’t tell a lie You must free the voice That once sang to the child At the edge of night A danger space Lethal embrace Ensnaring your mind Has weakened your defenses A word is said Sweet poison laced Confusing the lines That define your existence You must open your eyes To allow in the lights Let the rainbow spread its hues across the sky Of this starless night ©2006 US Copyright Office

History 05:02
History There will be time to assess the crimes From how many angles can you tell a lie For now we need answers to the damage done Swing around this unprecedented blight Sift through the ashes, spread out the smoldering pile There was the war that ended them all Before you knew it the Nazis walked tall Who says history never repeats When old men in suits drum in the beat No surprise when some of us can barely read The sick, the weak, the destitute What are you gonna do about it The corrupt, the greedy, the criminal What are you gonna do about that The war and the death of innocents What are you gonna do about it The terror that’s real and the terror that’s fake What are you gonna do about that The outresourcing and the national debt What are you gonna do about it Politics with a religious bent What are you gonna do about that There is the guideline and there is the law One aims to protect, one’s for control We play with various forms of slavery Sweeping from torture to psychology Maybe it’s time to rewrite this parody The sick, the weak, the destitute… © 2006 US Copyright Office

Sandman’s Lot The father’s is on the loose The mother’s fattening (fattening) One kid’s a mall rat The other’s on crack That’s the theme Still searching for the American Dream Spreading like whores before their lying pimps The neighbor has a ride That does nearly a pint to the mile At Sunday gas-up It takes a Benjamin to fuel his pride Five days a week for a weekend drive Plus three extra nights to feed the credit line But dear, don’t you cry They voted for a man they could trust So wipe out the tear from your eye They’re cruising on their plasma high Uncle Harry has gotten nasty With the little girls He’s got his sticky fingers way up too many skirts Nobody dares to face such a fine Christian man Plus Harry’s got a mean streak on a par With the slime The nation’s got an issue With the foreign labor force It seems it’s taking all the shitty work From these mighty shores The money isn’t worth the price of its paper base Plus half the time its value is caught in cyberspace So dear, don’t you cry What you see is not worth your while They’re playing in the lot of the sandman Not guessing they’ve trashed the Promised Land © 2006 US Copyright Office

The Rejected 05:51
The Rejected He walks along the street Avoiding the sunny side Like a man with nothing left behind Soon he’ll make the corner Options to the right or left Does it really matter? When the past haunts you down No time to make up your mind Then alright, you take your chances Maybe the road will open wide It comes down to a few nuances Could a change be realized at last? There used to be a time when you had it made Nothing could come in the way There was a certain friend With a strange look in his eyes Nobody paid attention One morning came to rise From the ashes of his life A small amount in daily doses A discreet switching of the hands Completed a final swap of places In the body of a different man There are voices in the alley calling his name Come forward and meet the powers of this god forsaken place Come to the nightmare Of the lost and the rejected She once was a beautiful girl With a smile to spare She took many breaths away Now she lies down A broken nose, no teeth Smacked out of her head Dying in the alley Nobody seems to care When joy is in the air You simply look the other way You block it out like you have been trained Thanks to the few who mind enough To volunteer for the rejected There are voices in the alley calling her name Come forward and meet the powers of this god forsaken place Come to the nightmare Of the lost and the rejected, the neglected, the dejected… © 2006 US Copyright Office

For Profit and Power They lied about the war They lied about the towers While people die for their mistakes While soldiers fight for a gross charade For the thirst of those in power They took the jobs away Dividing the good people Against each other So that they are left De-unionized, dehumanized Like souls without a nation To call a democracy A place that allows torture A land that strips its citizens Of their rights and their dignity Downright borders on evil They lie, they lie and then some more Like kids with their hands in the jar Eying the door They lie to us like we can’t see right through the holes Then try to rob us of what we’ve earned Until we fall For them to call the center the left Tells us how far these fascists Have overtaken the system For profit and for power Like bloated undertakers It glorifies hypocrisy For them to call the numbers And then end up In a pit of snakes Blaming the devil for their sins Like drunken shifty cowards They lie, they lie… © 2006 US Copyright Office

Can’t Feel the Rain Why wait to see until it happens The happening is now To fail to act upon the problems Tells me you don’t belong Negligence leads to reaction Reaction to the fear That fuels the drama of intervention Right on your TV screen Oh I can’t feel the rain Rolling into my eyes The silence and the darkness Tell me have I gone blind We started with your average leader An idiot with a smile Now we have a group of dictators Waging a war on rights All that ‘coz we let it happen Before our very eyes We failed to monitor the system Now we’re paying the price Oh I can’t feel the rain Rolling into my eyes The silence and the darkness Tell me have I gone blind ©2006 US Copyright Office, Library of Congress
