Divided

There may be some misunderstanding
In the way we converse
I don’t quite grasp all the nuances

Are we lost on a line
Closing on a room full of darkness
Inflated in our pride
Blinded by the glare of self-righteousness

We feel divided on politics
Virtuous through the lies
We milk the divine out of nonsense
To the death we shall fight
Are we losing our minds
As we aim for the depths of the chasm
Clutching on the threads
Of opinions beset by phantasm

We can’t all be wrong
We can’t all be right
We simply lack an education
What’s in a knowledge
Bereft of respect
